I looooove sleep. Now that my kids are a bit older, most nights I get a good night sleep. Now the only thing that keeps me awake is my racing mind. I often use the oils to create peace in the children's rooms for a restful sleep, use them for my mind chatter, add them to the bath, use for a back rub or make beautiful sleepy diffuser blends. Here are my top ways I use essential oils for a restful sleep:
Most nights I diffuse the Lavender Peace blend in the kids diffusers. It is such a beautiful blend which includes lavender, cedarwood, ylang ylang, roman chamomile, vetiver, hawaiian sandalwood & vanilla. It is so yummy and the sweet calming scents always support the kids to have a restful night sleep.
I sometimes make a blend of lavender and Fractionated Coconut oil and give them a little foot massage. This is also perfect for baby massage to support young babies to have a good night sleep. Sometimes Ill pop a few drops of lavender on the little blankie that my daughter cuddles up with at night too.
Quiet the mind
When my mind is racing and I want to get some sleep, I put a drop of both lavender and cedarwood onto my pillow. Within minutes, Im always off to sleep. These could also be diluted with fractionated coconut oil and rubbed onto the feet or over your whole body for a beautiful sleepy aromatic dressing blend.
Sleepy Bath Time
Mix 3 drops of lavender with 3 drops of frankincense and one cup of epsom salts and add to a warm bath to experience deep relaxation before bed. This is a perfect way to relax at then end of the day and also ensure a restful night sleep.
I often add lavender to the kids bath with some salts or milk to disperse properly. The kids love the relaxing scent of lavender in the evenings.
Sleepy time back rub
Who doesn't love a nice back rub? Add 3 drops of lavender, 3 drops of frankincense and 3 drops of cedarwood to 1/2 a cup of fractionated coconut oil for a relaxation back rub. If you don't have someone willing to give you a back rub, this is also a beautiful blend to rub over your whole body for an aromatic dressing blend before bed.
My favourite diffuser blend for sleep is always 1 drop of balance blend, 1 drop of cedarwood and 3 drops of lavender. You will be drifting off into a deep sleep in no time.
